What does the “entourage effect” mean?
When we talk about the entourage effect, we’re talking about the synergy...the interactions…the relationship...between the myriad of components found in Hemp. Using the whole plant provides us access to these components (terpenes, fatty acids, bioflavonoids, just to name a few). Research shows that working with the whole plant works better than isolating these constituents. Think of the entourage effect like your favorite recipe: individual ingredients may have unremarkable flavor, but bring them all together and the results can be extraordinary.
Does Three Buds Apothecary test the Hemp Co2 Extract content in its products?
Absolutely. Every batch of Three Buds Apothecary infused products are independently purity tested so that we know it’s free of toxins and heavy metals, and meets our standards of potency and functionality. We encourage you to ask manufacturers of any infused product you use for a corresponding COA (Certificate of Analysis). We’re presently working to post all of our COAs on our site. In the meantime, please email us with your Batch ID to receive your corresponding COA.
Why is it important to ask about test results?
We don’t want to put anything on our skin that isn’t safe. Independent testing can ensure that botanical ingredients are free from traces of mold, pesticides or contaminants. Furthermore, it verifies actual content and accurate dosing.
Why is it important to know where & how the Hemp is grown?
Hemp is known for its ability to remove and absorb toxins and heavy metals from its growing environment (the soil and groundwater) - a process known as phytoremediation. While this makes hemp a great clean-up plant, the toxins it absorbs may remain in the plant and thus contaminate any extraction using these plants. With so many infused products on the market, not all contain the purist ingredients. Some are sourced from overseas or farms with low purity standards. Others use an isolate (which is cheaper and less effective than full-spectrum extract). We tell everyone we speak to about Three Buds Apothecary products and Hemp Co2 Extract that it’s essential to “KNOW YOUR GROWER.” We have full transparency and traceability with each and every one of our ingredients. It’s vitally important to us that we only source from farms and businesses that have a commitment to sustainable and organic growing and processing practices. What does “full-spectrum” mean?
Full-spectrum extract is the least processed extraction of hemp in the rawest form, containing a full spectrum of compounds not limited to but including terpenes, flavonoids, chlorophylls and enzymes. Research shows that working with the whole plant can be more beneficial than isolating individual constituents. It is in accordance with the Federal Farm Bill of 2018. Think of it like your favorite recipe: individual ingredients may have unremarkable flavor, but combining them can create extraordinary results.
